The DAR is one of the largest women’s service organizations in the world. The women who make up our membership are varied and come from all walks of life. We share a common bond of tracing our ancestry to those who helped gain our nation’s independence.
Our members honor our nation’s past and we serve veterans, schools, and conservation programs in our communities.
We are committed to helping any woman 18 years or older, who can prove her lineal descent to someone who fought for or supported the patriotic cause.

The Michilimacinac Chapter, NSDAR, organized on February 9, 1952, includes communities in Clare and Gladwin Counties.
